What is the optimal Max Battle Day particle strategy for F2P?
Short Answer: End Friday at 1,790 particles with 300 ready to collect, then collect your weekly 1,500 research on Saturday to get 7 battles total out of Max Battle Day.
Friday (Prep Day):
End the day at 1,790 particles by collecting 300 when you hit 1,490. Also make sure you have 300 particles ready to collect going into Saturday (along with your 1,500 weekly research reward waiting to claim).
Note: If there’s no 1,500 particle weekly research available (e.g. Pikachu week), you can end Friday at 680 particles instead. Ending at 1,780 also works.
Saturday (Max Battle Day):
| # | Action | Particles Remaining | Daily Cap Remaining |
|---|---|---|---|
| Start | — | 1,790 | 1,600 |
| 1 | Battle (-800) | 990 | 1,600 |
| 2 | Collect 300 | 1,290 | 1,300 |
| 3 | Walk 0.5km → collect 600 | 1,890 | 700 |
| 4 | Battle (-800) | 1,090 | 700 |
| 5 | Walk 0.5km → collect 600 | 1,690 | 100 |
| 6 | Battle (-800) then collect from new Power Spot (+820) | 1,710 | Capped |
| 7 | Claim 1,500 weekly research | 3,210 | Capped |
| 8–11 | Battle 4 more times (-800 each) | — | — |
Total battles: 7 (or up to 11 with leftover particles depending on your exact count)
Tip: The daily particle cap resets at midnight — plan your Power Spot visits and walking around this to squeeze out every particle before and after reset.
